In July 2013 the Government introduced Employment Tribunal fees following significant growth in the number of claims lodged. Since then there has been a marked decrease in new claims, suggesting the fee regime is a deterrent.
Those ET cases that remain are often more complex, and potentially more costly, not only financially but in terms of reputational risks for the business.
