Paula studied Applied Social Studies at University and became interested in the law when she studied a criminology module. Upon completing her first degree, Paula then studied the Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2003. Paula specialised in the defendant insurance sector for a number of years before starting a family and moving from London to Broadstairs.

Following a career break to raise her young children, Paula’s first venture back into the legal world was as a community officer with Citizens Advice and Paula helped in the initial stages of Citizens Advice’s involvement with the Ageless Thanet project. While Paula greatly enjoyed the diversity of this role, she decided to return to legal practice and to specialise as a private client Solicitor and has had no regrets.

Paula is also a Dementia Friend. Away from the office, Paula enjoys spending time at her beach hut with her family. Paula also enjoys jogging along the beautiful Thanet coastline and can occasionally be found surfing and paddle boarding at one of Thanet’s beaches. Paula was born and raised in Staffordshire, about an hour or so from the seaside, so loves every minute of living by the sea.

If you are interested in leaving money to charity in your will, Paula has written an article with various examples of how this could work.

Paula also takes a keen interest in combatting loneliness and isolation and you can read some ideas penned by Paula here
