Boys & Maughan expands conveyancing team with first-time buyer expert

We have expanded our Margate residential conveyancing team with the appointment of Ann Nicholas, an expert in the various ways people can join the property ladder.

Richard Durrant, Partner at Boys & Maughan, explained: “Ann is expert in freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, as you might expect. She also has in depth knowledge of sales and purchases of shared ownership properties. With links to a wide array of housing associations, she regularly deals with first time buyers who want to purchase a part buy, part rent. Ann also has experience in dealing with lease extensions and staircasing (buying more or all of the property) in shared ownership, right to buy, right to acquire, and other ways of making a home more affordable.

“In the past most house sales involved local people but  buyers are now increasingly coming into the area, attracted by the opportunity for a change in lifestyle, quicker  commutes into London and our older, character properties. This is pushing up prices making owning a home increasingly challenging, so we expect Ann’s additional areas of expertise to be particularly useful to those looking to get a leg-up onto the property ladder.”

Ann Nicholas said: “I am delighted to have joined Boys & Maughan’s award winning residential conveyancing team. I have worked in Kent throughout my career and Boys & Maughan is known county-wide for its excellent reputation.”

Boys & Maughan were named the best law firm for conveyancing in the country at the 2015 Property Forum Awards.
