Moving home from home: supporting our residential property clients during lockdown

Liz Dack, a residential property Partner based at our Margate office, is currently assisting people who wish to move home under the ever watchful eye of her bulldog, Daisy. Liz’s working arrangements are not without their challenges but she has adapted and is getting everything ready for a sprint to the end with her clients when things get back on track.

Liz explains, “Working from home in the current climate is challenging for many sectors. Luckily the usual difficulties have been minimised by our firm because our direct dial numbers have been diverted to our homes and we can securely access our file management system, causing as little disruption as possible.

“I am able to deal with my caseload using email and am continuing to regularly speak to clients and other conveyancers, which is a crucial part of my work.

“Understandably, my clients are very concerned about possible unforeseen delays to their transaction and the property market in general. I hope that I am able to allay many of their fears and reassure them that their sale, purchase or remortgage is still able to complete or being progressed as far as possible, so we will be ready on the starting block to finalise everything as soon as the restrictions are lifted.

“I have a temporary workmate in the form of my bulldog, Daisy, who tries to help by eating the constant flow of food I am taking from the fridge, and am enjoying the absence of makeup and heels! I do miss my colleagues though. I’m looking forward to getting back into the office, and doubt I will moan about going in on a Monday ever again.”

Liz Dack’s direct dial number is 01843 269289. If you are not sure who to contact in our conveyancing team please call us on 01843 234000.

Here is a checklist of things you can do to help us progress existing transactions and prepare for future moves.
