Selina Rai

Solicitor

Selina Rai is a residential property solicitor based at our St George's Place office in Canterbury. She advises clients on a broad range of property matters, from buying and selling homes to voluntary lease extensions and changes in ownership. You are welcome to contact Selina directly on 01227 931065.

Efficient, approachable and meticulous, Selina believes good communication is central to a positive conveyancing experience. She enjoys getting to know her clients and understanding what matters to them, whether they are buying their first home, moving to a new property or dealing with changes in ownership.

Selina prefers to speak to clients face to face or over the telephone wherever possible, rather than relying solely on email. She recognises that property transactions can involve unfamiliar terminology and important decisions, and values the opportunity to explain matters clearly, answer questions and keep people informed. Her eye for detail helps her navigate the legal and practical issues that can arise along the way.

Selina can assist with:

  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • Voluntary lease extensions
  • First registrations – registering a property or land with HM Land Registry for the first time
  • Deeds of variation – making agreed changes to existing property documents, such as the terms of a lease
  • Transfers of equity – adding or removing someone as a legal owner of a property, for example following a change in family circumstances.

Selina qualified as a solicitor in 2025. She graduated with honours in Law with Psychology from the University of Derby and subsequently completed the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law.

Outside work, Selina is a keen hiker who enjoys challenging long-distance walks. She uses AllTrails to discover new routes, exploring East Kent and further afield across the UK. Selina is also an active member of the Sagarmatha Gurkha Nepalese Community in Ashford, Kent.
