Boys & Maughan boost Ramsgate office with partner promotions

Lorraine Smith and Dawn Sahathevan from our Ramsgate branch have been promoted to the Boys & Maughan partnership. The pair took up their new roles on 1 April 2014.

Lorraine joined the firm in 2011 and is an experienced private client solicitor with expertise in wills, probate and lasting powers of attorney. Her dedication and hard work has enabled her to build a thriving private client practice in the town.

Commenting on her promotion, Lorraine Smith said: “I am delighted to step up to the role of partner and will be seeking to further consolidate our role in serving the Ramsgate community.

“People I see are usually seeking a carefully planned and drafted will for a reasonable price or face the challenge of dealing with the estate of somebody close who has died. I take pride in being approachable, down-to-earth and sympathetic to my clients’ circumstances and am increasingly seeing people of all ages.”

Dawn Sahathevan, a Chartered Legal Executive who is known for her ‘can do’ approach and client focused manner, also joined the firm three years ago. She is a conveyancing law practitioner, specialising in freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and lease extensions.

Dawn Sahathevan said: “Joining the partnership is an important milestone in my career with Boys & Maughan. Over the past 12 months I have helped several hundred people move home and the feedback we receive tells us that clients are highly satisfied with the work we do for them. As a partner, I plan to become more involved in business and community groups and further raising the profile of the firm. It’s a fresh challenge and one that I relish embracing.”
