Moving home during the new lockdown

Some clients are asking us how the new restrictions affect those who are in the process of moving or will need to move in the new lockdown?

The short answer is that house moves in England will be unaffected by the upcoming month-long lockdown.

Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick posted on his Twitter account on 1 November that renters and homeowners would be able to move house during the country’s second lockdown and removal firms and estate agents can still operate provided that they follow Covid-safe guidelines.

All our offices will be closed to visitors from 5pm on 4 November until the end of the current lockdown period but our staff will be continuing with business as usual behind the scenes.

Our lawyers are working from home using secure online systems to access files and emails. Please email us as normal.

Much of our conveyancing work is usually conducted by telephone. If you wish to phone your lawyer click through to their profile page to find their direct dial telephone number.

Please do not visit us to speak to staff during the lockdown period. Each of our offices has a letterbox and we will continue to open and deal with any post.
