Legal industry bible recommends Boys & Maughan's litigation, family and commercial property lawyers
Boys & Maughan’s property litigation, family law and commercial property lawyers have achieved a listing in the 2021 edition of legal industry bible, The Legal 500, in recognition of their skills and consistently high levels of service.
Our specialists appear in the rankings as amongst the best in Kent, Surrey and Sussex and it is the first time our property litigation offering has been included by the editors.
Boys & Maughan’s property litigators are singled out for particular praise and summed up as “close-knit, supportive, and possessing both substantive and practical know-how across a wide range of subjects.”
One contributor said, “Their extraordinary attention, time and collective responsibility made us feel at ease through the duration of our case”. Another added: “They take the trouble to understand the client and also the commercial considerations, and not just the legal positions. They don’t waste time as do so many solicitors, and treat all clients with the same degree of importance. They give me confidence in all matters and their advice is sensible as well as legal.”
The editorial for our Family team talks about its experience in handling financial disputes and children cases, including matters involving criminal proceedings. On the matrimonial side our firm is noted for its experience in advising high value clients on divorces and our collaborative law offering. In regard to cases involving children, the editors draw attention to how our team works on difficult cases involving jurisdictional issues, non-accidental injuries, and neglect.
Both Jonathan da Costa and Max Konarek received glowing praise: “da Costa is 'an excellent lawyer' while Konarek is described as 'an outstanding solicitor with a fortress of knowledge'.”
Our Commercial Property entry emphasises how Boys & Maughan is known for its work in advising developers on acquisitions and disposals in addition to advising corporate clients on leases. The team is described as “knowledgeable and always able to answer queries and questions quickly and efficiently.”
One contributor remarked: “Rachael Massingham and her team have become a valued source of professional support for our business and we literally wouldn’t have got where we are without her. In the last year Rachael has prepared and completed complex leases on 5 commercial units and we have two further units that are due to be let-out in the next year. Rachael is known in the local area as the ‘go-to’ person for commercial conveyancing.”
Robert Moulsdale, Senior Partner at Boys & Maughan, said: “The Legal 500’s comments and praise for our teams are testament to the skills and commitment of all our staff. Our lawyers and support staff have decades of experience of assisting individuals, businesses and developers in Kent and take a great deal of pride in their work.”
It’s the sixth time Boys & Maughan’s family team has been included in the guide, which announces the UK’s leading legal experts by region every autumn. Boys & Maughan’s commercial property team has been listed for the fourth consecutive year and it is the first occasion on which our property litigators have received recognition.
Boys & Maughan’s Legal 500 submission was subjected to detailed analysis and clients, referees and other firms gave views on our firm. Established over 30 years ago in 1987, The Legal 500 independently reviews the performance of solicitors firms across the UK and lawyers around the world.
