Boys & Maughan appoints two trainee solicitors

Following an internal application process and applications from some outstanding applicants, Boys & Maughan has awarded Kirsty McGhee and Tyler Greenland training contracts starting on 1 September 2023.

Kirsty attained her LLB and Masters of Law at the University of Kent, specialising in medical ethics and law. She will be training for 18 months in our Children Law team, where she is a paralegal. Following this, Kirsty will join the Litigation team for 3-6 months and is due to qualify in September 2025.

Kirsty is following the SQE (Single Qualifying Examination) approach to qualification and will take the SQE1 exam in January 2024 and SQE2 exam in October 2024.

Tyler Greenland, who attained his law degree at Swansea University, is following the traditional approach to qualification because he has already completed his LPC at the University of Law in London. It involves a two-year training contract, and Tyler will be in Boys & Maughan's Commercial Property for the first six months, followed by periods in our Private Client and Litigation teams. Like Kirsty, Tyler is due to qualify in September 2025.

Andrew Baker, Senior Partner at Boys & Maughan, said, "Many congratulations to Kirsty and Tyler on starting their next steps to qualification as solicitors. Their promotions recognise the specialist expertise they have honed in their respective areas, and their valuable contribution to clients, their teams, and the firm.

“We seek to lead the way in providing high-quality legal services and the calibre of people who work for our firm. Investing in the lawyers of tomorrow and homegrown talent is an essential part of ensuring we have the best skillset across all our legal services.”
