Domestic Abuse

One in four women in the UK will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.

Domestic abuse can be defined as:

“The physical, psychological, emotional, sexual and or financial abuse that takes place within an intimate family type relationship and forms a pattern of coercive and controlling behaviour.”

Crime statistics and research both show that domestic abuse is gender specific - the perpetrator of a pattern of repeated assaults is usually a man.

We work very closely with the local DA support agencies to provide privately and publicly funded legal advice to victims of domestic abuse, ensuring that you get sound advice for you and your children when you need it most.
