What if your case goes to court?
For any person charged with a criminal offence the prospect of appearing before a court can be worrying, dealing with unfamiliar matters in an intimidating atmosphere. The matters to be considered in preparing your case are difficult and can be complicated. At Boys and Maughan, we have been assisting those charged with criminal offences for many years and have built up unrivalled experience in the field.
WE WILL
* from the moment you are charged act as your legal representatives
* advise on applications for legal aid
* deal with bail, contacting sureties and locating suitable addresses
* arrange for you to be legally represented by an experience advocate at all stages of your detention and trial
* prepare your case in detail trace and interview witnesses and put together the evidence which you need to fight the case
* arrange any appropriate medical, e.g., psychiatric examination
* if it appears that a “guilty” plea will be appropriate, prepare your mitigation including character witnesses, medical reports
* advise on all aspects of appeals against conviction or sentence
